Cool down with these refreshing Mango drinks!

Chilled Mango Cooler
Aam Paana
This Indian drink, renowned for its heat resistant properties, is made from green mangoes.  It’s a tasty and healthy beverage – perfect for a hot day, and after a meal!

Serves 4
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
3 green mangoes (1¼ lbs), peeled and diced
¼ cup packed fresh mint leaves
¼ cup sugar
½ teaspoon cumin seeds, toasted and ground
Salt, to taste
Crushed ice, for serving
Mint sprigs, for serving
In a medium sauce pan, heat the diced mango pieces (with enough water to cover them) on medium heat – and then cover.
Cook the raw mangoes until slightly tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Drain the water and cool.
Blend the cooked mangoes with 4 cups water,salt and mint leaves.
Strain the mixture.
Add sugar and roasted cumin powder to the mango mixture; mix well and chill.
Add crushed ice into four tall 8 oz.glasses and pour the drink.
Serve garnished with mint sprigs.

Mango Lassi:

Lassi is an ever-popular Indian yogurt drink!

Serves 4
Prep time: 5 minutes if using canned
mango purée (suggest Alphonso or Kesar mango pulp)
15 minutes if using fresh mangoes
4 cups yogurt 
2 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
3 ripe mangoes (about 3 lbs), peeled and cut into chunks,
or 3 cups canned mango pulp or purée
½ teaspoon ground cardamom,
1 cup crushed ice
Blend the ingredients in an electric
blender until the yogurt is frothy. Pour
over ice into four 8-ounce glasses
and enjoy!
